Glen Hansard, of the great Irish band The Frames, and classically trained Czech pianist and singer Marketa Irglova – AKA The Swell Season – delivered a spectacular set of hot Irish soul at Prospect Park in support of their new album, Strict Joy.
Photographer’s Notes
I was really impressed by the sheer strength of Glen Hansard’s voice and the energy of the whole band. Personal highlights for me included covers of Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic” and Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere.”
After three songs in the pit, I shot from the crowd using the Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED lens. I selected the DX cropping mode format on my D700′s sensor for a little extra reach. My exposure hovered around 1/200 and f/2.8 at ISO 3200.
